Learn jewelry making techniques and take home your finished projects.
1. Basic Beading
-overview of stringing materials,
findings and pliers
-learn how to:
attach a clasp; "float" beads using crimps; make loops and links using
eye pins and head pins
-take home a necklace and bracelet (and earrings, time permitting)
2. Wire Working
-working with pliers and wire
-learn how to:
make wire links; create shapes with wire; wrap stones and beads with
wire
-take home one or more finished projects
3. Earrings
-making several styles of stud
and fish hook style earrings using head and eye pins, chain and wire
-learn how to:
arrange beads on head and eye pins, chain and wire and attach to earring
findings
-take home one pair of each style of earring
4. Hempwork ($25.00)
-learn how to: work with hemp
twine; make the square knot, spiral knot and half-hitch knot;
incorporate beads into your knotted design
-take home a necklace and bracelet
PROJECT CLASSES
Beads, findings and tools are
provided. Beading experience recommended.
1. Three stand Swarovski crystal floating necklace - $35.00
- Space beads evenly on flexible beading wire and use crimps to hold
them in place.
2. Family bracelet using Swarovski crystals - $10.00 (plus cost of
beads)
- Use birthstone crystals for each family member to make a unique
keepsake.
FREESTYLE BEADING - $5.00 plus store materials selected
An informal evening to browse the
store, pick out your own beads and create necklaces, bracelets or
earrings. A great opportunity to make gifts or something for yourself
and to meet other beading enthusiasts. Use our tools and space. Staff is
available for assistance.
